2007年の東京モーターショーではスズキのモンスターバイク「バイプレーン」やマツダのコンセプトモデル「Nagare」デザイン、縦列駐車も簡単にこなせる丸っこい車「PIVO2」など数々の面白い車が出展されていましたが、2年ぶりとなる「東京モーターショー2009」は海外からの出展企業が激減、全体としては出展企業数が241社から108社へと半分以下まで減り、世界不況の波もあってかなり苦しい運営となっているようです。 今回はトヨタが頭文字Dで有名な「ハチロク(AE86)」の名を継いだ「FT-86」を、ホンダが一輪のパーソナルモビリティ「U3-X」を出展するほか、各社とも今まで以上に環境への負担が少ない点をウリにした「エコなモーターショー」になっています。 本日どかどか入る予定の東京モーターショー記事の一覧を以下にまとめるので、一気に見たいという人はこのページをブックマークしておくと何かと便利かも。

1980年以来実に30年にわたって、その年にデビューした新型車の中から「その年に最もふさわしい一台」を選んできたのが、日本カー・オブ・ザ・イヤーです。で、今回の東京モーターショー2009では、「日本カー・オブ・ザ・イヤー30周年記念展」ということで、第1回はマツダ「ファミリア」、第2回はトヨタ「ソアラ」、第3回はマツダ「カペラ/テルスター」、第4回はホンダ「シビック/バラード」、第5回はトヨタ「MR2」……という感じでかなりすごい顔ぶれの自動車が一堂に会しています。 ちなみに、第30回の2009-2010日本カー・オブ・ザ・イヤーは「トヨタ プリウス」でした。 日本の自動車史の一端を表すとも言える自動車たち、まずは第1回から第14回までです。
